On My Own

Silvie Paladino has an exquisite voice which is enhanced by beautiful music

Silvie Paladino

Silvie Paladino has an exquisite voice which is enhanced by beautiful music performed by the Melbourne Youth Orchestra. On this CD, she sings classics such as “On My Own”, “He Was Beautiful”, “Something Wonderful”, “Truly” and “Please Don’t Ask Me”. She also sings the inspiring “At A Time Like This” which she wrote with musician, composer and orchestrator John Foreman.

Paladino is a very emotive singer. The instruments and her voice make you suffer with Eponine in “On My Own” and perk up with “Happy Days Are Here Again/Get Happy”. She sings “Truly” in both English and Italian — it somehow it sounds more romantic in Italian!

Paladino includes a personal comment about why she likes the songs she chose for the CD. “Caruso” makes her think about her grandfather, “Truly” always made her cry as a teenager and “Les Miserables” was her first role in a musical.

Paladino has been performing since 1989, when she was 18. Her roles include Jeannie in Hair, Grizabella in Cats, Ellen in Miss Saigon and Donna in Mama Mia. Her previous albums include: Silvie Paladino — Christmas List and SideShow Alley. She is also a regular performer at Carols by Candlelight.
