On Eagle’s Wings

This is a beautifully arranged, gentle and moving performance of popular hymns

Tom Kendzia & Joseph Hebert

This is a beautifully arranged, gentle and moving performance of popular hymns and spirituals including “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Be Not Afraid”, “Prayer of St Francis” and “There is Balm in Gilead”.

The music is meditative and almost loving. You can feel that Kendzia and Hebert really respect their instruments and enjoy playing them.

On Eagle’s Wings would make excellent background music during silent reflection or quiet prayer. My favourite rendition was Nobet’s “Hosea”.

Sometimes I wished some of the songs had a different tempo — just as a contrast — for example, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” cries out for a more forceful, faster, gut wrenching rendition.

However, the musicians felt there wasn’t enough quiet, reflective music for unhappy people. The aim was to provide strength and peace which it does well.
